Paul is chairman of the board and chief executive officer and co-founder of the company and its subsidiaries, is a Class II director and has been a director since the company’s inception in 1986. He has also served as the chairman of the board and chief executive officer of the company since 1989 and as president of the company from 1989 until August 2003.
Paul attended Rice University and the University of Houston prior to starting and operating several small companies. He has served as president of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO) and was a member of its board of directors for five years.
In 2001, Paul was selected as the 2001 National Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® for service industries. In 2004, he received the Conn Family Distinguished New Venture Leader Award from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. In 2007, he was inducted into the Texas Business Hall of Fame.
Steve Arizpe is president and chief operating officer for Insperity. He is responsible for providing strategic leadership to our human capital solutions, human resources, client services, traditional employment solutions and information technology departments to assure customer satisfaction and client retention.
Steve joined Insperity in 1989 as Houston sales manager. Since then, he has served in a variety of roles, including regional sales manager, national sales manager, vice president of sales and executive vice president of client services.
Prior to joining Insperity, Steve held sales and sales management roles for NCR Corporation and Clarke-American. He has also served as a director in the Texas Chapter of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO), on the board of CultureShapers, an organization devoted to area high school students pursuing their interests in the visual and performing arts, and on the board of the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion.
Steve earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Texas A&M University. He currently serves as director of Somebody Cares America, a nonprofit organization that engages in disaster response, compassionate outreach and leadership development.
Jim Allison is executive vice president of gross profit operations for Insperity. He was promoted to this role in 2018 and is responsible for leading the Health & Welfare Services, Property & Casualty Services, Retirement Services, and Pricing and Cost Analysis.
Jim joined Insperity in 1997 and has held positions of increased responsibility, including manager of financial reporting; director of accounting; managing director of planning and analysis; managing director of finance; and senior vice president of pricing and cost analysis.
Prior to joining Insperity, Jim worked in the audit practice of Ernst & Young LLP. He has also served on the Accounting Practices Committee of the National Association of Professional Employer Organizations (NAPEO).
Jim earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and master’s degree in professional accounting from the University of Texas and is a certified public accountant.
Dan Herink is executive vice president of legal, general counsel and secretary for Insperity. He was elected to this position in 2007.
Dan joined Insperity in 2000 as assistant general counsel and was promoted to associate general counsel in 2002. In his prior responsibilities with Insperity, Dan led the company’s litigation and property and casualty insurance practice areas and worked extensively on transactional matters.
Prior to Insperity, he served as an attorney at Rodriguez, Colvin & Chaney, L.L.P. and McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore, L.L.P.
Dan earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Nebraska and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a member of the Texas Law Review and The Order of the Coif.
Kathy Johnson joined Insperity in 2002 as general manager for the Eastern Service Region, and has advanced within the company in several technology and operations roles, including VP, MidMarket Operations. Prior to joining Insperity, she held executive positions in marketing and human resources at AT&T and The New Power Company. Johnson was promoted to her current position in December of 2015 and directs sales and operations for the middle market segment of the business.
Doug is executive vice president of finance, chief financial officer and treasurer for Insperity. He was promoted to this role in 2004.
Doug joined Insperity in 2000 as vice president of finance. Prior to Insperity, Doug served as chief financial officer of Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. and IISYS, Inc., a national forensic engineering firm and software company. He also served as controller of Fifth Generation Systems, Inc., an international software company specializing in the development and sale of utility software. Doug began his career in public accounting with Ernst & Young, L.L.P. in Houston, where he served in the audit practice for seven years.
Doug earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a certified public accountant.
Ross Astramecki is senior vice president of sales for Insperity. He was promoted to this role in 2015 and directs a sales force of more than 650 professionals.
Ross joined Insperity in 1994 as a sales consultant. He was promoted to district manager in 1999 and helped successfully lead the company’s expansion into the St. Louis and San Diego markets. His success led to numerous promotions, including regional sales manager for northern and southern California in 2005; national sales development manager in 2008; regional vice president in 2010 and vice president of sales in 2012.
For more than 25 years, he has been instrumental in executing the company’s sales strategy, and his solid leadership skills have resulted in the growth of a highly trained and efficient sales team.
Ross is an advisory board member for Texas A&M University Mays Business School. He has also served as an active board member for Be an Angel since 2014, a nonprofit organization that helps thousands of special needs children throughout Texas.
JaNette Connell is senior vice president of Corporate Human Resources for Insperity. She was promoted to this role in 2019 to focus on guiding the company through the challenges and opportunities associated with the changing demographics of the company’s workforce.
JaNette joined Insperity in 2008 as director of marketing. She has held various roles of increasing responsibility in the marketing organization, including serving as project lead for the company’s renaming effort and was instrumental in transforming the marketing organization to meet the evolving needs of the company. Her success working across divisions, coupled with her knowledge of Insperity, has helped the organization improve experiences for both clients and employees. JaNette’s experience includes co-leading a leadership development effort to improve Insperity’s overall operations and cultivate the company’s next generation of leaders.
Prior to Insperity, her extensive corporate background includes positions with Nokia, Genesco Sports Enterprises and General Motors R*Works.
JaNette earned her bachelor’s degree in advertising and a minor in business foundations from the University of Texas at Austin. She holds a CMP and currently serves on the board for the Central Texas Chapter of the Positive Coaching Alliance. In the past, she has served as an advisory board member for Women in Travel, where she was the 2015 Leadership Award recipient, and as a committee member for the Dallas Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Corporate Event Marketing Association.
Thomas P. Gearty is senior vice president, Corporate Development for Insperity. He was promoted to this role in 2017 to oversee the strategic, operational and financial leadership of the traditional employment solutions division.
Tom joined Insperity in 2004 as a sales consultant in Phoenix. His success led to numerous promotions including district manager in San Francisco in 2005; regional manager promotions in Northern California in 2008; Arizona and Colorado in 2010; Southern California in 2012; and regional vice president of the western U.S. in 2014.
Before joining Insperity, Gearty worked in the financial services industry for Morgan Stanley Dean Witter and Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith.
Tom earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Arizona State University. He also volunteers with Reading to Kids, a nonprofit organization that creates learning opportunities for thousands of underserved children.
Sam Larson is senior vice president of innovative technology solutions for Insperity. He was appointed to this position in 2004 and is responsible for the overall technology strategy of the company including product development, infrastructure, and support for technologies used by our customers, worksite employees and corporate staff.
Sam joined Insperity in 1994 as controller. Since then, he has held various management roles including vice president of finance and vice president of enterprise project management.
Prior to joining Insperity, Sam held a variety of positions in the finance and accounting field, beginning his career in the audit practice of Ernst & Young.
Sam earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas at Austin.
Mary Massad is senior vice president of traditional employment solutions for Insperity. She was promoted to this role in July 2022 and is responsible for providing oversight, leadership and strategic direction for the traditional employment segment of the business including TimeStar, PerformSmart, OrgPlus, ExpensAble and Workforce Acceleration.
After holding multiple positions in sales and human resources at Olsten Staffing, Mary joined Insperity in 1994 as a member of the corporate recruiting team. While there, she led innovation within the department, eventually becoming division president, recruiting services, and helping to build one of the recruiting industry’s most effective organizations. She later advanced to the role of division president, traditional employment operations. In her current role, she continues to enhance client confidence, maintain competitive practices and services, and ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfaction.
Roger Nicholson is senior vice president of service operations for Insperity. In this role, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership to Insperity’s core service organization and overseeing the development and delivery of human resources solutions that enable our clients’ businesses to succeed so their communities prosper.
Roger joined Insperity in 2002 as a client relationship manager and has held various leadership roles including director of northeast service operations, general manager eastern region service operations and vice president of field operations.
Roger has more than 30 years of experience in recruiting, staffing, sales, operations, human resources, payroll and leadership. Prior to Insperity, Roger held management positions with Manpower International and Manpower Professional. He also served as gunnery sergeant, area manager and career recruiter for the United States Marine Corps.
Roger earned his bachelor’s degree in English from The University of Florida. He also has completed courses in sales, communications, coaching, leadership, finance and accounting.
He has served on the Board of Directors for the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion since May 2018 and as Director and Chairman of the Development Committee since May 2021.
Larry Shaffer is the Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Insperity. He assumed this role in 2017 and is responsible for leading the Marketing organization including sales innovation, brand strategy, digital and social media marketing, and internal and external events.
Larry joined Insperity in 1999 as a sales representative. He has held various roles of increasing responsibility including District Sales Manager; General Manager; Vice President of Middle Market Services, and Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Development.
Larry is a natural extension of the Insperity brand as he helps employees and leaders, both inside and outside of Insperity, maximize their professional achievement and performance through his content entitled, Activating Your X-Factor.
Larry has a bachelor’s degree and two master’s degrees from Pacific Christian College, Luther Rice University and Regis University, respectively. His degree from Regis University is a Master of Business Administration with honors in accounting and finance.
Larry has a history of volunteer efforts including Prison Entrepreneurship Program, Star of Hope, a Houston-based non-profit supporting the city’s homeless population and the Cynthia Woods Pavilion and Performing Arts. Larry has traveled to Africa fives time including South Africa, Swaziland, and Malawi. His work there provided leadership training to Christians leaders and ministers.
